Message from the Paramacharya of SWAHA: The Need for Intense Spiritual Discipline

May 06, 2021

As the world faces increasingly challenging times, there is an urgent need for the intensification of spiritual sacrifices by all. In keeping with the advice of our scriptures, SWAHA recommends that the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra can be used as a protective armour that is highly efficacious whenever matters of health, vitality or freedom from fears arise.

SWAHA suggests that individually and collectively we chant at least one mala of jaap (repetition 108 times) of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra every day, either in the morning or evening, starting Saturday 8th May until Saturday 22nd May 2021. At the end of this period of jaap, a virtual service will be conducted on Sunday May 23rd at 8:30 am. Further details of this service will be provided later.

The dates of commencement and conclusion of this special worship (May 8th and May 23rd) are both Trayodasi days which are auspicious for the worship of Lord Shiva.

All devotees are encouraged to join in the chanting of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra:

Om Tryambakam yajaamahe

Sugandhim pushti vardhanam

Urvaarukamiva bandhanaan

Mrityor muksheeya maamritaat
