A New Year, A Renewed Journey

Nalini Parasram-Rajballie, Chairperson, SWAHA Publications Committee

As we step into a new year, January invites us to reflect and realign. As a threshold month, January signals us to look back with gratitude for the journey behind us, and look forward with hope, intention and faith. The New Year is not only a change in the calendar, but a collective opportunity to renew a commitment to advancement: spiritual, intellectual and personal.

In this first edition of 2026, we are guided by a powerful convergence of themes drawn from the vast heritage of Sanaatan Dharma. The observance of Makar Sankranti reminds us of the cosmic and personal turning toward light and righteousness; monthly Ekaadasi calls us inward to discipline, clarity and transformation; and the symbolism of Saraswati Devi offers an eternal blueprint for balanced living through knowledge, creativity and discernment. Together, the teachings provide meaningful guidance as we continue another year of learning, self-discovery and evolution.

We are also honoured to include the New Year’s Message from the Paramacharya of SWAHA, which sets the tone and vision for the year ahead. It serves as a spiritual map of shared values and the direction in which we will move forward together as a community.

The SWAHA Publications Committee extends heartfelt thanks to the enewsletter’s readers for continuing this journey with us. Your support and feedback give purpose to this work. I also wish to express sincere appreciation to the members of the Publications Committee, for their seva and teamwork: to Pt. Artma Persad for his oversight of the website, and to Mr. Dinesh Arjoon for his dedication in arranging and distributing the enewsletter. We look forward to continuing to provide readers with accessible and spiritually enriching content in 2026.

As we all move into the months ahead, may we continue to discover the light that shines in us all, cultivate knowledge with humility, and walk the path of discipline and devotion with grace.

Happy New Year.
