Shankaracharyaji: A Man of Vision

He was revered for the words of wisdom that he imparted, for his deep devotion and for his clear vision and foresight. He was sought after for his sage advice and blessings by thousands. He was loved for his compassion and his understanding of his chelas. And yet, His Holiness, Shri Hari Prasadji, the Shankaracharya of SWAHA continued to remain the essence of humility and candour.

As the founding Father of SWAHA, His Holiness Pt. Hari Prasad’s foresight and unwavering zeal for the provision of continuing guidance, direction and enlightened leadership bore deep into new vistas of the wide expanse of Sanatan Dharma. He used his own life to teach others. Here are some examples of his thoughts and the advice he gave:

“I attribute my long and healthy life to my faith in God, divine practices, stability of mind and belief in Scripture.”

“Consuming the right food, meditating, praying and exercising are useful ingredients in the quest for a long and fruitful life.”

To parents: “Do your best to enlighten your children, raise them with care and set the right examples. Pass on the right knowledge to them and they will listen to you.”

To fathers: “Be honest and straightforward with your children and practise the principles that you preach.”

To his shishyas (disciples): “Practise a spiritual life and have moral values. Don’t just talk the talk, walk the walk too. God is watching you and other good people are watching you too. God has blessed us with everything. Thank God and be humble and faithful. Maintain proper conduct, maintain your dharma and live a simple life.”
